Sthe: I am writing to formally express our deep frustration and disappointment regarding the ongoing water shortage affecting residents of Phola Mission area for several days. Community members have been left without access to water, which is a basic human necessity. Families are struggling to cook, clean, bathe, and carry out daily activities because of this serious issue. What is even more concerning is the complete lack of communication and community notification from eThekwini Municipality. Residents have not been properly informed about the cause of the water shortage, how long it will continue, or what temporary solutions are being provided. In addition, ward councillors who are supposed to represent and fight for the people they lead have failed to provide answers, support, or visible action. The community feels neglected, unheard, and abandoned during this difficult time. We strongly urge eThekwini Municipality and local leadership to: * Restore the water supply urgently. * Provide clear communication and updates to the community. * Ensure that water tankers or temporary relief measures are arranged immediately. * Hold accountable those responsible for failing to communicate with residents. The people of Phola Mission deserve respect, transparency, and proper service delivery.
