The King Sabata Dalindyebo Municipality issued a memorandum regarding a scheduled power outage on July 27, 2025. According to the KSD Electricity customer line, the majority of Mthatha's power is out due to a fire at a sub station near Unitra and may take hours or the whole day to restore. Power has been restored in Mandela Park.
