Reconnect delayed
Electricity remains off in Lenasia Extensions 3–13, Bushkoppies, Kliptown, Klipspruit West Extensions 2 and 9, Olifantsvlei and Slovo Park after protection and communication cables were vandalised and stolen. Repairs are underway; City Power’s 18:00 restoration estimate for 14 October remains in the existing update. At Orlando Switching Station, City Power says cables were replaced and ready for reconnection, but restoration was stopped after intruders entered the yard and exchanged gunfire with security; a technician was injured. The 06:00 estimate was cancelled and a new estimate is to be confirmed. City Power says there was no explosion.
