Power
The 132 kV outage affecting Waverley, Rietfontein, Villieria and parts of Gezina is attributed to vandalism and theft of multicore cables at Eland Switchyard. A 14 October alert also lists Villieria local and Jacaranda substations and surrounding areas as affected by an outage from Villieria substation; its cause is unknown and a switching team is investigating.
Internet
Internet services remain affected in Waterkloof Glen, including Hugo Street, Marni Street, Roslyn Avenue, Judith Street, Timothy Street, Beethoven and Durr Street; reports suggest road construction damaged a cable. Fibre is also down on Anton van Wouw. Internet is also down in Constantia Park, where technicians are working to restore service.
Water
Water remains off on Jacaranda Road in Witkoppen after briefly coming on late last night; water is also still off on Uranium Road and in other reported affected areas. A temporary repair was made, and a permanent solution is being pursued. An unverified Telegram update says a repair failed when supply was reopened and a new flange was to be welded this morning.

Three intruders entered a home in Alftonworld near Dennis Road at about 03:21; a resident fired at one, who died after paramedics attended. Stolen belongings were recovered by Fidelity Security Services, and SAPS was called; the circumstances remain under investigation.
